CC + Las Adelitas
Vision
“CC + Las Adelitas” merges Mexican music and the jazz idiom. This project and the experience that it creates incorporates the history of the Adelitas and Mexican song writers and/or singers and sets the music in the jazz idiom. The band features some of the most well known up and coming jazz musicians from across the globe, highlighting the strength of women in jazz.
Musica
CC + Las Adelitas perform music from Mexico and the US, reimagined in a jazz setting. CC (Colleen Clark) also writes original music for the ensemble, using inspiration from styles and songs from Mexico combined with her vast listening of jazz and music of Latin America.
